Prepare for Sunday – 1/17/2016

This week we continue our series in the Gospel of Mark. We will be picking up our study in Mark 1:1-8 where Mark will help us see that the Gospel is not new to story of God but in fact is something rooted in the long standing promises of God. We will also be introduced to a strange preacher named John the Baptist who sets the stage for Jesus’ ministry. John’s ministry stands at the transition point between the “Promises Made” in the Old Testament and the “Promises Kept” in the New Testament. In the end we will see that God keeps his promises and sends faithful preachers into the world to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel.
