Why Another Church?
The ultimate reason why we want to plant not just one church but multiple churches in the metro area of Nashville is because of the fame and glory of Jesus. We believe the Gospel changes everything! Until Jesus returns, the world will continue to groan after redemption from its brokenness in sin. Jesus commanded us, His church, in Matthew 28 to “go and make disciples.” By God’s grace, we desire to plant a church in Smyrna that will make disciples that will plant more churches for Nashville.
Davidson County (Nashville) and its surrounding counties of Williamson, Sumner, Wilson and Rutherford are consistently listed in the top 100 counties in the U.S in demographic growth. The southeast quadrant of the metropolitan area, including Rutherford County, has averaged 2-4.5% growth since 2000. As more than 100 new people move to the metro area each day, 15-20 move to Rutherford County alone. The staggering truth is that Rutherford County is projected to grow to over 400,000 residents by 2025. Combine these statistics with the fact that only 18% of those who reside in Rutherford County will attend a church on a given Sunday, it is hard to deny there is a Gospel deficit that exists in our area. Who is going to reach them?
The vision is great, but the cost will be great as well if we don’t move. As the universal church, we need to push back the darkness in Nashville but this will not happen without the investment of existing local churches as well as other faithful disciples and networks partnering with us to accomplish this vision. You will find the varying ways you can partner with us listed near the end of this prospectus. It is our hope that what begins with one church planted through the efforts a larger family of like-minded believers and churches will result in a Spirit empowered movement to LOVE JESUS, MAKE DISCIPLES and PLANT CHURCHES
